Vers 1
Gedenk aan David, aan zijn leed;
Gedenk den duur gezworen eed,
Dien hij, o HEER, U plechtig deed;
Dien eed, waarmee zijn hart en mond
Aan Jacobs God zich dus verbond:
Vers 2
"Zo ik in mijne woning treê,
Of klimm' op mijne legersteê;
Zo ik ter nachtrust ga in vreê,
Zo ik de sluim'ring zelfs geheng',
Totdat ik dezen eed volbreng':"
Vers 3
"Tot ik een rustplaats voor den HEER
Gevonden hebb' te Zijner eer,
Waar Jacobs Machtige verkeer',
En Hij, naar mijn gemaakt bestek,
Zijn vaste woningen betrekk'."
Vers 4
Ziet, 't blij gerucht der ark liep voort,
En werd in Efratha gehoord;
Wij vonden haar in Jaärs oord,
In 't bosrijk veld van Kiriath,
Dat God dusver verkoren had.
Vers 5
Wij zullen in Zijn woning gaan;
Ons buigen, waar Zijn troon zal staan,
En bidden voor Zijn voetbank aan.
Sta op tot Uwe rust, o HEER,
Met d' arke van Uw sterkt' en eer'.
Vers 6
Bekleed, o hoogste Majesteit,
Uw priesters met gerechtigheid;
Uw gunstvolk juich', door U geleid;
Versmaad hem, dien Gij zalven liet,
Om Uwen knecht, om David, niet.
Vers 7
Tot staving van de waarheid, deed
De HEER, die van geen wank'len weet,
Aan David enen duren eed:
"Ik zal", dus sprak Hij, "uwen Zoon
Eens zetten op uw glorietroon."
Vers 8
"Houdt uw geslacht Mijn heilverbond,
En 't vast getuig'nis van Mijn mond,
Dat Ik hun leer ten allen stond;
Dan is hun 't rijksbestuur bereid,
Op uwen troon, in eeuwigheid."
Vers 9
Want Sion is van God begeerd,
't Wordt met Zijn woning hoog vereerd;
"Hier", sprak Hij, die het al beheert,
"Hier zal Ik wonen naar Mijn lust;
Hier is in eeuwigheid Mijn rust."
Vers 10
"'k Zal Sions, 'k zal der armen spijs,
Hier zeeg'nen op de ruimste wijs;
Hier zal Ik, Mijnen naam ten prijs,
De priesters met Mijn heil bekleên,
En 't volk doen juichen weltevreên."
Vers 11
"Daar zal Ik David, door Mijn kracht,
Een hoorn van rijkdom, eer en macht
Doen rijzen uit zijn nageslacht.
'k Heb Mijn gezalfden knecht een licht,
Een held're lampe toegericht."
Vers 12
"Wat vijand tegen hem zich kant',
Mijn hand, Mijn onweerstaanb're hand,
Zal hem bekleên met schaamt' en schand';
Maar eeuwig bloeit de gloriekroon
Op 't hoofd van Davids groten Zoon."

Psalm 132
1 A Song of degrees.
LORD, remember David, [and] all his afflictions:
2 How he sware unto the LORD, [and] vowed unto the mighty [God] of Jacob;
3 Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed;
4 I will not give sleep to mine eyes, [or] slumber to mine eyelids,
5 Until I find out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty [God] of Jacob.
6 Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: we found it in the fields of the wood.
7 We will go into his tabernacles: we will worship at his footstool.
8 Arise, O LORD, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength.
9 Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.
10 For thy servant David's sake turn not away the face of thine anointed.
11 The LORD hath sworn [in] truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.
12 If thy children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore.
13 For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired [it] for his habitation.
14 This [is] my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.
15 I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread.
16 I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.
17 There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.
18 His enemies will I clothe with shame: but upon himself shall his crown flourish.
