Psalm 47
Vers 1
Juicht, o volken, juicht;
Handklapt, en betuigt
Onzen God uw vreugd;
Weest te zaâm verheugd;
Zingt des Hoogsten eer;
Buigt u voor Hem neer.
Alles ducht Zijn kracht;
Alles vreest Zijn macht;
Zijne Majesteit
Maakt haar heerlijkheid,
Over 't rond der aard',
Wijd en zijd vermaard.
Vers 2
Naar Gods wijs bestel,
Op Gods hoog bevel,
Slaan wij, door Zijn hand,
Volken aan den band;
Die, door ons verneêrd,
Door ons overheerd,
Strekken tot een blijk,
Hoe Hij, liefderijk,
Aan Zijn woord gedenkt,
d' Erfenis ons schenkt,
Jacobs heerlijkheid,
Aan hem toegezeid.
Vers 3
God vaart, voor het oog,
Met gejuich omhoog;
't Schel bazuingeluid
Galmt Gods glorie uit.
Heft den lofzang aan,
Zingt Zijn wonderdaân,
Zingt de schoonste stof,
Zingt des Konings lof
Met een zuiv'ren galm,
Met een blijden psalm;
Hij, de Vorst der aard',
Is die hulde waard.
Vers 4
Zingt des Hoogsten eer,
Opdat ieder leer',
Hoe Hij heerst alom
Over 't heidendom;
Hoe Hij van Zijn troon
Geeft Zijn rijksgeboôn,
Daar het al voor bukt,
Eed'len, gans verrukt,
Nu hun 't Godd'lijk licht
Straalt in 't aangezicht,
Delen in ons lot,
Eren Abrams God.
Vers 5
D' eersten van den staat,
Die den onderzaat,
Naar Gods wijze wet,
Zijn ten schild gezet,
Eren 's Hoogsten macht.
God munt uit in kracht.

Psalm 47
1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah.
O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.
2 For the LORD most high [is] terrible; [he is] a great King over all the earth.
3 He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.
4 He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.
5 God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
6 Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.
7 For God [is] the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.
8 God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.
9 The princes of the people are gathered together, [even] the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth [belong] unto God: he is greatly exalted.
